Champagne, bubbles, birthdays and besties

It's hard to believe this month is more than half over! It's as if time has been set on fast forward lately. I'd love to be able to push the pause button for a chance to reflect, relax and enjoy the changing of seasons. However this month doesn't look like it will slow down any time soon, i have heaps of fantastic shoots coming up. Not to mention the gorgeous wedding i photographed this past wkd, I can't wait to post teasers, the bride was absolutely stunning!

Speaking of pretty ladies...

A few weeks ago i had the pleasure of photographing two fabulous girls who also happen to be great friends of mine. It was Lauren's 30th Birthday and her bestest friend Kristen wanted to surprise her with a fun filled, champagne fueled session. It was one of the last hot, sunny summer days we had before the chill of fall began to hit. I had an awesome time on this gorgie day with them and absolutely love the way these turned out.

I was actually able to fit this vintage bike into my tiny car! The girls were pretty impressed when i pulled it out.

Nothing like champagne in the setting sun with your favorite girl.

Gorgeous besties.

Champagne giggles...

Lauren is such a classic beauty, she has that 'old hollywood look' to her.

Since we had sort of snuck onto this field to get a few shots, the girls were nervous the entire time that they would be chased off the property.

As soon as we got the shots we needed they bolted!

These next few frames are my favorites from the day. The sun was setting fast and i was worried we wouldn't have the time to shoot by the water but i just adore the way they turned out.

Farewell Summer...

And hello to cool nights, chunky sweaters, layers and beautiful fall colours!
The last long weekend of the summer is upon us and after the hot temps we've been having this week it's not looking so good. This Hurricane is definitely bringing us some nasty weather for the Labour day weekend.

I'm getting a strange feeling as the cooler weather approaches, it's a sense of anxiety i think. I start to think of all the things i've put off this summer. Like getting organized for example; cataloging my shoots and electronic files, purchasing media storage and a proper desk/office set up instead of editing on my lap which is causing major wrist issues (yikes!). Taking care of the business side of things, oh i dread this!
Editing, printing, framing photos and just basically figuring out my next move in life... All this on top of the editing and all my upcoming sessions!
Looks like September is the time to start getting all my ducks in a row.

Last year around this time i had the pleasure of capturing a lovely lil guy named Wyatt. He was a newborn at the time and sooo very sweet! This time around he's a walking, crawling toddler. Tom and Jolene your little man is just so precious :)
Happy first Birthday Wyatt!

(Speaking of newborns, i'm sending all my positive energy, prayers and best wishes to baby Daxton and his parents Jessica and Clint. Poor lil guy is having heart surgery today.)

Just chillin in his muskoka chair on the dock.

Playing with his new birthday shoes.

I absolutely LOVED this location, so many beautiful elements to work with.
