Baby Josie

Before the holidays i never got a chance to give baby Josie a proper Blog post. I had it all prepped and ready to go and actually thought i had posted it already. While slowly getting back to the grind i discovered i hadn't actually posted it yet.
So, without further ado here's a 2010 session rolling into 2011...

I had the pleasure of photographing lil Josie who is in some ways part of my family, well she's a part of my sister's family, which makes her my part her mine :)
She's such a lil doll and was an absolute joy to photograph! Here are a few images from our session in Mel's and Jay's beautiful home.

She could have hung out in the bucket and dresser drawer all day, such a content & happy baby.

Survivorman {Daxton}

It's easy to lose perspective this time of year, easily forgetting what the holidays are about, losing track of what truly matters. Busy running around getting ready for Christmas, overspending on gifts, overindulging on food and drinks.
Funny how it only takes a lil guy like Daxton to remind us of what really matters, something we all take for granted... life.

A little over 3 months ago Daxton Oliver McKenzie came into this world, first baby born to proud parents Jessica and Clint McKenzie.
Daxton appeared to be the picture of health until a nurse noticed his coloring was off. They discovered Daxton was born with a heart defect called transposition of the greater arteries (when the aorta is where the pulmonary artery is and vise versa).
He was quickly airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital where he underwent heart surgery a few days later. Thanks to the very capable surgeons at Sick Kids Daxton survived. After the intense stress and worry the family endured they were ecstatic and relieved to find out that Daxton is now healthy and strong. Daxton and his family were given the best gift a family could ask for... life.

Survivorman... this is what they call him.

He was so content in this bucket... i almost think he enjoyed being in there.

Precious feet.

Hamming it up for the camera...

Nothing better than baby giggles...

Daxton in the Christmas spirit.

Such a happy baby boy.

Daxton between wardrobe changes in his adorable lil robe.

Auntie Christine came along for the shoot... had to get a shot of the sisters with Dax.

The Carr Family

It's (almost) officially December. Which means the holidays are approaching... eeek!

The countdown begins... Christmas parties, December birthdays, two of my best girls arriving home from Asia, a fabulous wedding, CHRISTMAS with the family, and New years. What could be better?!

The best part is the anticipation... the days leading up to the holidays. I'm really going to make an effort and live in the now though, embrace every moment leading up to the excitement. Soak it all in and enjoy what's to come before it's here and gone.
It really helps that i don't feel like i'm playing catch up anymore, things have finally returned to a normal momentum. I can finally breath a little easier :)

Which leads me to this post of the Carr family, back when there were leaves on the ground....

Nothing like the love of a grandparent...

Sister love.

Precious little thing...

I had a session one year ago with these two little darlings. I just love seeing how much they've changed since then...

More sister love...

Melissa & Rob {e-session}

What a fantastic 'lil getaway i just had, and much needed!
I decided to book an extra long wkd off after being so insanely busy these last three months. I had no idea i was going to be shooting nonstop and it's been absolutely fantastic, but i needed a 'lil refresher.

I spent my mini getaway with one of my bestest girlfriends in the Collingwood and Wasaga area. We indulged in loads of gourmet foods and some much needed pampering. If you've never been to the Scandinave Spa in Collingwood you must go! This was my third time going and it never disappoints. My first experience a few years ago at Mont Tremblant was incredible. They also have a location in Whistler; if you are around any of these areas... go! Get pampered and relax, it's well worth it.

I did manage to fit in a photo session while i was away, which made my mini break feel that much more satisfying. A bit of productivity and creativity always helps feed my soul.

But now i'm back to reality and sooo looking forward to Christmas. I'm breaking out the Christmas music this week and getting into the holiday spirit. It's getting close!

Here are some images from my session with Melissa and Rob who are friends of mine. They are getting married on Dec 27th and i'm super excited for the dazzling party they will have. What a great time of year for a wedding!

The beautiful fall colours that are no longer here...

Melissa & Rob live downtown Toronto and are getting married in the city as well. Melissa grew up in the Caledon area and wanted to have a taste of home in these pics, so they drove up one afternoon before the colours completely disappeared. It turned out to be a beautiful overcast day and we finished our session right before the rain came down.

Melissa and Zoolander...

One of my favs...

Love the contrast of her coat against the corn stalks... such a gorgeous pop of colour!

Right around the corner from where Melissa grew up...

Melissa and Rob happen to be huge TFC and Blue Jay fans. I mean MAJOR fans. They had to have a couple shots with their jerseys...

Congrats you two lovebirds. Can't wait to shake it up at the wedding!
